'We', not 'Me, myself & I'

The world is going global. It's becoming easier to connect with someone at the other side of the world, but while the ties between people living oceans apart is growing stronger, the ties between the people living next to each other are weakening. People nowadays are thinking about themselves and striving for their selves, for their own good, since the world is becoming more individualized. We learn to mind our own business. The world is becoming a world of 'Me, myself and I. '

I don't know about you, but I can't see someone suffer and look the other way for the simple reason that it might lead to nightmares because I can't stand the sight.
I can't let someone 'bleed to death' because I'm afraid of some bloodstains on my clothes.
I can't ignore it and think that it's not my problem, when those around me suffer.
I, because I can only say what I think and hope you will give it at least some thought, think solely thinking about your own good is where all trouble in the world starts.

We, yes WE not me,myself and I, have to start becoming more considerate of the people we live with, the people closest to us and t hose around us. We have to start being more considerate of our neighbours and break through that closed door and that thin wall that may allow us to hear their problems but also gives us the chance to ignore it. We can't ignore it, because we can make a difference and we are responsible.

We can make a difference, between letting abuse go unnoticed or between intervening and reporting it. How can it happen that a man kills his wife and children and that nobody saw it coming? We can make a difference.
How can it happen that an old lady dies inside her house and that it takes months for people to find out? We are responsible.

We have to start thinking more about the people next to us in the buss. We can at least take our bag off the seat next to us and start greeting each other or stand up for an old lady. We have to do that.
We can start by being more considerate of the people who walk next to us on the street. Making eye contact is a start, since the eyes are the reflection of the soul, and we could start by smiling because a simple smile or a wink can make the difference between a bad and a good day.We need to reach out to those around us and communicate and help each other where we can.

I'm not saying you should take the weight of the world on your shoulder and you don't have to if everyone decides to carry a bit of that weight. We have to make a start. I believe we can save the world. Every big thing has a small beginning.
You can start small by smiling at people on the street or helping someone around you with any thing, any small thing.

You could start by considering that what you do maybe even more important what you do NOT do can have a huge impact on those around you.

You can start by thinking more in term of 'We' and less in terms of 'me, myself and I'. Is that too much to ask?

Some posts about being considerate. Some ore in Dutch, others are in English.
You can choose what you prefer or use google translate but I don't think it translates very well.
