Travel to come home.

Wherever you go,
when you look, you will find
common ground even in worlds apart:
a warm place to turn to,
where you can open up,
share jokes and laughter,
tears and matters of the heart.

When you look, you will find
differences everywhere you turn,
in places that might take more effort to thread,
for which you might need
curiosity, an open mind, consideration, patience and respect

It might or not come naturally,
But when you’re genuinely interested and at ease,
on both common ground and in the encounter with differences,
you’ll be amazed to discover how comfortable you feel on common ground,
but that common ground is a place to start, not the most interesting place to stay,

And when you try to live on common ground, you'll find out
that common ground is a place you know, not a place to grow.
that common ground does not reap the finest fruit.
You’ll notice that the differences  you encounter are the real opportunities
to grow and to learn from each other
and that being different is the only way to complement one another.

When you love exploring both common ground and differences,
you’ll find that you can both look at the same thing from a different perspective,
and have the same perspective on different things,
and that way you can expand your world through each others mind,
broaden your horizon through each other’s eyes.
and you’ll be literally and as a matter of speech,
taken to different places,
even travel in time
while feeling completely at home at the same time.

  1. Very wise and nice blog. I think the common ground is like a foundation to build your castle. From that castle you would want a nice view. What this view will be will be determined by the places you travel. Or the new things you experience when building a castle. But this is the way I see it. The common ground but with an open mind for changes
